GLOBAL CRISES
Humanity faces a multiplicity of global crises – all having the
same cause: A rule of law that is rooted in
archaic and Ptolemaic philosophies.
Capitalism – the freedom to create, own, and trade
assets – has lost its compass. It has been transformed into
debt-based capitalism – into what the first lawgivers called "usury."
And "usury," most people will tell you, has
. . .
Books foretelling,
already in 1998, 9/11, the collapse of debt-based Capitalism,
and the unthinkable cataclysms that are yet to come – but, more
importantly, offering the simplest solution to humanity's global
crises. |

GLOBAL ECONOMY |
International Monetary
Fund (IMF): 2009 Article IV Consultation with the United States
of America
|
- Context: "The U.S.
financial and economic crisis has had severe global
repercussions. The run-up to the crisis involved a
substantial and
widespread underestimation of risks.
. . The sharp decline in housing prices
that started in 2007 weakened several systemically important
financial institutions, culminating in the collapse of Lehman
Brothers . . . This was followed by
the worst global
financial panic since the Great Depression, with
extreme strains in a broad range of markets, volatility in
capital flows and exchange rates, and a cascade of systemic
events"
- Long-Term Legacy: "As
in other countries, the financial crisis will also result in a
serious and enduring
deterioration in public finances, exacerbating the already
large challenges of swelling entitlement costs.
Over 2009−11, the staff projects that
federal deficits will
average 9 percent of GDP, and that debt held by the public
will nearly double to 75 percent of GDP; with debt maturities
having shortened, gross financing requirements are projected
at 30 percent of GDP, about double pre-crisis levels."

the United States of America,
Concluding Statement of the IMF Mission,

Restoring Scientific Integrity in Policymaking
Quote from the Union of Concerned Scientists:
"When scientific knowledge has been found to be in conflict
with [the] political goals
[of the administration of George W. Bush],
the administration has often manipulated the process through
which science enters into its decisions. This has been done
. . . by censoring and suppressing
reports by the government’s own scientists. .
. [I]n advocating policies
that are not scientifically sound, the administration has
sometimes misrepresented scientific knowledge and misled the public
about the implications of its policies."

"I
believe in the future resolution of these two states, dream and
reality, which are seemingly so contradictory, into a kind of
absolute reality, a surreality, if one may so to speak."1c*
"Let us
not mince words: . . . only the marvelous is beautiful."1d
"We
really live by our fantasies when we give free rein to them."1e*
" . . .
[T]his phrase astonished me: . . . it was something like: "There
is a man cut in two by the window . . . ""1f
"SURREALISM, n.
Psychic automatism in its pure state, by
which one proposes to express -- verbally, by means of the written
word, or in any other manner -- the actual functioning of thought.
Dictated by thought, in the absence of any control exercised by
reason, exempt from any aesthetic or moral concern."1g
SOLUBLE FISH (1924)
"In New
York harbor it was no longer the Statue of Liberty that lighted
the world, but Love, which is different."1h
SECOND MANIFESTO OF SURREALISM
(1930)
"The
simplest Surrealist act consists of dashing down into the
street, pistol in hand, and firing blindly, as fast as you can
pull the trigger, into the crowd. Anyone who, at least once in
his life, has not dreamed of thus putting an end to the petty
system of debasement and cretinization in effect has a
well-defined place in that crowd, with his belly at barrel level.
. . I simply wanted to bring in here the element of
human despair . . ."1i
" . . .
[T]here is a mirror in the mind over which the vast majority of
mankind could lean without seeing themselves."1j
POLITICAL POSITION OF SURREALISM (1935)
"Art
is not a submission, it is a conquest.
The conquest of what?
Of feelings and the means to express them.
About what?
About the unconscious, almost always; about logic, very often."1k*
" . . .
[W]e live in an era in which man belongs to himself less than ever
. . ."1l
